2015 The start of Formal Food and 2018 export market.

 

We started our company FORMAL FOOD AND COMPANY S.A.S. as a consumer food business under an innovative model: the sale of products through carts.mobile ritesThe company has also been involved in the development of the new "The New York Times", which traveled through the streets or attended business and private events.    

After three years of facing different regulatory barriers -such as the prohibition to sell in public spaces- and without finding a clear path to profitability, we decided to change our business model and the company's corporate name.  

Then we started exporting lemons to the United States, a business that represented our second setback, but also one of our greatest sources of learning. At this stage we were victims of fraud and lost all our capital.

We traveled to New York in search of recovering the money and, at the same time, exploring new opportunities for our young exporting company. The former did not happen, but we did discover the latter: the great potential of soursop, as long as we managed to market it in a different presentation and form.

2020 Innovation as a pillar of Formal Food and 2021 U.S.-based company

We returned to Colombia with the mission of finding or developing a different product that we could produce and sell in the United States, but that was not processed, that was 100% natural, without preservatives or additives and, most importantly, that preserved all the organoleptic and nutritional properties of the fruit.

Thus, combining technology and creativity, we developed a completely differentiated product: our soursop snack.

After two years of product development and market testing, we decided to create FORMAL FOOD LLC in the United States, with the objective of importing and distributing directly. We felt that this was the ideal strategy to reach the largest number of consumers, get to know the market first hand and, in the future, incorporate new products to our portfolio.

2024 Opening of company in Spain and 2025 portfolio expansion 

After the lessons learned in the U.S. market, we decided to open a subsidiary in Spain to import and distribute in the European market. Thus FORMAL FOOD S.L. was born .

Taking advantage of the knowledge acquired and the marketing capacity in markets such as the United States and Spain, in addition to our direct presence in them, we decided to expand Formal Food's brand portfolio and establish a new corporate structure.

Formal Food became the umbrella brand and we introduced two new brands in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) category : NUESTRA Foods and MÚKURA.
